Small groups
Never more than 16 guests on a retreat.
Asanura began as a single shala by the river in 2012. Today it is a retreat centre, a city studio, an app and an Ayurveda house.
Ines and Tomas left city jobs with a plan to host twelve guests a month. The valley had other ideas. We now welcome around 1,500 retreat guests a year and keep every group small.
We grow most of our food, heat water with the sun and hire from the villages around us. Our teachers live here, which means the person teaching your morning class also knows the best swimming spot on the river.

Solar power, compost and no single-use plastic.
Most of our team is from the valley.
Rest is always an option, in class and out.
One pavilion, six guest rooms and a borrowed kitchen.
A city studio for students who asked to keep practising.
Breathing guides and sits for a world at home.
A treatment house and garden kitchen for longer stays.
I'd never managed to sit still for five minutes. After the silent week I sit for thirty, and I look forward to it.
Tomas read my pulse and then my habits. The dosha plan was simple, kind and it worked.
The breathing guide in the app is on my lock screen. Box breathing before every meeting.
Retreats run all year. Most guests arrive on a Sunday.
